A warm welcome is assured whether you are an experienced bowler or just wishing to ‘try out’ a new social activity. Bowling takes place between April and September and matches are played weekdays, weekends, daytime and evenings so usually something for everybody.
Lawn Bowls is a very sociable sport without age barriers. Participants may be 9 or 90!
Every assistance will be given to those who are new to the game. Just bring flat rubber soled shoes and we will supply the rest while you get an opportunity to see if this is your game of choice – free of charge.
Despite many perceiving this as a game for retirees only, in fact the National bowlers representing County and Country are very much in the younger age bracket. We are very willing to encourage a ‘Youth’ movement and times for practice can fit around school and working hours.
The Club competes in the Stamford League, Melton Triples League, and holds successful Galas.
During the winter months look out for posters advertising social activities open to the community, Quiz, Whist, Race nights etc .
The clubhouse can be hired by members of the community for a range of functions including use of a bar and kitchen facilities for just a small donation.
Market Overton Bowls Club members work hard to maintain high standards for our venue and beautiful green in the knowledge it has been part of the village for nearly eight decades.
